The Rev. Dr. Scott Robinson, Spiritual Director and Interfaith Minister![]() "This was a deep, rich and warm experience. Scott is a man who brings a wealth of richness." ~Workshop participant
Scott’s formal training in spiritual direction through the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, one of the most well-known and respected programs in the country, gave him the foundation to lead contemplative retreats and workshops. His pastoral training through the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania grounds his knowledge in Christian tradition. And his many years of spiritual practice and guidance in centering prayer, meditation and chanting provide a nuanced depth to his spiritual coaching. "All the faithful are not called to the public ministry; but whoever are, are called to minister of that which they have tasted and handled spiritually." –John Woolman ![]() A "both-and" person in an "either-or" world.
While Scott is a baptized Christian and a member of a Franciscan religious order, he has also attended Sufi sama and visited the tombs of Sufi saints in Turkey and the United States, chanted kirtan with the devotees at the Radha Krishna Temple in Philadelphia, sung in synagogue choirs, danced and played music with the interfaith Dances of Universal Peace, and worshipped in all manner of churches. His approach to spiritual direction and practice is deeply interfaith, non-dogmatic, and rooted in the belief that the Ground of All Being is beyond words, thought and categories. Multifaith music![]() Scott’s musical group Mandala has performed original music in churches, cathedrals, colleges and yoga studios on both coasts. While he holds advanced degrees in Western classical music, his music is multicultural in style and tailored for audience participation. Drawing inspiration from Sufi zikr, Hindu kirtan and the Christian Gregorian chant tradition, Scott's music is a vivid illustration of his broadly multi-faith outlook.
"A valuable experience. Scott... was welcoming and inviting. His facilitation approach puts people at ease," ~Workshop participant |
